design their next pizza box, and his winning design will be available in stores from
As well as taking home one thousand dollars, Ben was flown to the VISY Board packaging plant in Yatala, Queensland, to see the first batch of pizza boxes featuring his design fly off the printing press and onto pallets, destined for Domino’s stores across the country.
Domino’s Online Marketing Manager, Michael Gillespie, said that the latest competition was all part of the Company’s passion for connecting with its fans.
“When we launched the Design a Pizza Box competition we were hoping to give our
Facebook fans a way to tell us how they saw Domino’s, while also giving the winner the opportunity to have their artwork seen across the country,” said Michael. “We were all blown away by Ben’s design and are looking forward to bringing it to life in our stores.
“The social media environment gives us a great opportunity to really find out what our fans want from us, and to get them involved in all aspects of our business.”
Domino’s is becoming well known as a leader in the social media space, allowing
fans to not only design their pizza boxes but to design and name a pizza that still
features on the Domino’s menu, the Fan Favourite, as well as giving its 750,000 fans free Choc Lava Cakes, Mini Dutch Pancakes and several hundred pizza parties – all within the last twelve months.
Ben’s design features the iconic Domino’s bright red, the Company’s new logo, and a fun print entwined with words Ben associated with Domino’s – Australian, fresh,
value, choice, puff and burst to name a few.
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Ltd and its franchisees have 562 stores across Australia
and New Zealand, employing more than 16,000 part-time and full-time staff and
making more than 60 million pizzas each year.
