Snell & Wilmer Continues to Expand Bankruptcy Group with the Addition of Jeffrey W. Shields

Oct. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- SALT LAKE CITY – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Jeffrey W. Shields has joined the bankruptcy and reorganization practice group as a partner in the firm’s Salt Lake City office. Mr. Shields is the third experienced bankruptcy attorney to join the firm since May as the firm’s bankruptcy group continues to expand in the Salt Lake City office. Troy Aramburu, partner, joined the firm in May and Brock Worthen, associate, joined the firm in August.

Mr. Shields’ practice is concentrated in bankruptcy, commercial litigation in bankruptcy-related matters, reorganizations, commercial lending, and banking and. Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, he was the practice group leader of the bankruptcy/creditors’ rights practice group for Jones Waldo.  He was also vice president and assistant general counsel for Key Bank of Utah from 1986-1989. He earned his J.D. from Pepperdine University and his B.A. from the University of Utah.

Mr. Shields was named Best Lawyers “Lawyer of the Year” (2013) for Litigation – Bankruptcy in the Salt Lake City area. He has also been included in Chambers USA (2009-2011) for Commercial Litigation and named to Super Lawyers® (2007-2012), Super Lawyers® Corporate Counsel Edition (2012) for Bankruptcy, Best Lawyers in America (2003-2012) for Bankruptcy and Creditor-Debtor Rights Law and to Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite (2004-2012).

Mr. Shields is currently the chair of the Committee of Bar Examiners, Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights Subcommittee.  He has served as both director and chairman of the Utahns Against Hunger and on the Park City Jazz Foundation Executive Committee.  He also is a past trustee of the Utah Symphony and Opera and is the chair of the Utah Symphony and Opera’s Planned Giving Committee.
