PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 29, 2012 - Here are five additional  reasons why you need to own a Leica Disto Laser Distance Meter.

1.    Square footage and volume calculations are a breeze.
All Leica Disto Laser Meters include automatic calculations of square footage and volume.  The user simply inputs the width and length measurement in the Disto and the Disto calculates and displays the square footage.  The same works for volume, only the width, length and height are measured and the Disto calculates the volume.  The Disto D330i, Disto D5 and Disto D8 also include a room calculation feature that calculates linear feet of wall and square footage of a room.

2.   Much easier to measure in dark areas.
Instead of trying to extend your tape measure across the insulation and rafters in a hot dark attic, simply turn on the lighted display aim the laser and press the distance button.  The measurement is displayed on a backlit screen, visible in the dark.  Many of the newer Disto’s have the feature to turn on the backlight automatically.

3.   Much safer way to measure.
A Leica Disto laser meter allows you to measure areas you may not be able to safely access.  Whether it is a dark attic, a high roof or an older building with structural problems, rather than extending a tape measure, you just aim and shoot with the Disto.

4.   Much easier to measure in hard to get places.
Measuring a 25 or 35 foot cathedral ceiling can be difficult with a tape measure.  Simply place the Disto on the floor, aim the red dot at the ceiling and press the button. A very accurate measurement very easy with one person.  For measuring high places ie:  Telephone lines, telephone poles, roofs, trees, and high rise windows, the Leica Disto D8 can measure these much quicker and faster than older methods.

5.   Measuring distances over 100 feet.
Measuring longer distances is much easier and more accurate with the Leica Disto laser meter than with a standard tape measure.  Indoor measurements of up to 300 feet are attainable without any target plate.  The D5 and D8 with power range technology can measure up to 400 feet without a target.  Measurement past 400ft indoors or outdoors is possible with the use of a Disto reflective target plate.
