“In Palm Beach County, police average approximately 285 domestic violence arrests each month and for two years the county ranked third in the state for domestic homicides, dire indications of the need for the type of services FRCWC provides,” states Jane Wagley, program director. “With the greatest of need and limited financial resources, we are proud the Avon Foundation for Women shares our mission and chose to support our program. With these funds, we will be able to provide enhanced direct services to victims of domestic violence in our community.”
The Avon Foundation’s Speak Out Against Domestic Violence supports domestic violence awareness, education, direct services and prevention initiatives. Through the end of 2011, in the U.S. alone, the Avon Foundation for Women has provided more than $28 million for the domestic violence and gender violence causes. The Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program has expanded globally to more than 50 countries to help save lives worldwide.
