Selection for this honor is based upon outstanding support for the college and overall contribution to the greater community. Mr. Morse will also receive an honorary degree from the college in the spring of 2013.
Mr. Morse was a member of the Board of Trustees for Massasoit Community College from 1987 to 1992, and also served as chair of that board during his tenure.
He serves on the advisory board, and is a past director, chairman, and active tutor for Schools on Wheels of Massachusetts, an organization that provides tutoring services to students experiencing homelessness.
He is Treasurer and a Director of Goddard Health Foundation, a charitable foundation that funds scholarships for higher education in the healthcare arena and provides grants to nonprofit organizations for health-related programs.
Mr. Morse has served as a Director of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce since 2006, and is the current chair-elect of that organization, slated to become Chairman of the Board in November, 2012.
He serves on the Stonehill College Executive Committee for Development, and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and History from Bridgewater State College.
Mr. Morse is an active member of Immaculate Conception Parish in Easton, where he serves on the Finance Committee and as a Eucharistic minister.
Bill Morse and his wife, Louise, are longtime residents of the town of Easton, where they raised three children. He is also a past member of the Easton School Committee.
