Oct. 29, 2012 - PRLog -- Torrance, CA – D&D Films announces their sci-fi web series Chutes will transition into a feature film.

The original 11 episode web series, titled “Chutes & Ladders” premiered on Koldcast TV last September. The feature film will continue the story where the web series ended. It follows siblings Alejandro and Olivia, who must follow Vikram, a man from the future, and his collection of photos that reveal their fate. They get caught in a battle over time, learning their lives are closely linked to Vikram and to TER, the company that controls the chutes – time traveling wormholes.

Writer/director Miguel Duran wanted to take the story to another level, with higher production values, “I wanted to go back to the original concept of fate versus free will that led to the creation of Chutes. Telling the story as a feature allows us to really focus on the journey these characters take.” Producer Violeta Reina stressed the importance of casting two young Latino leads, “We wanted to present a diversity that was more than just a stereotype and more representative of our own experience."

The project has launched a Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2139194687/chutes-web...) to raise funds for production of the feature. The Kickstarter target goal is $28,000 and the final day of the campaign is Friday, November 2nd. In order to be successful, the Kickstarter goal must be met, or none of the funds are received. In addition to the feature, two new web series episodes will premiere to transition the story towards the feature. Miguel stated, “Since we began on the web we’re going to remain on the web. In addition to new episodes, there will also be an online transmedia element leading up to the feature.” The first new episode premieres on Blip and YouTube on Wednesday, October 31st.
