PRLog - Oct. 29, 2012 - POOLE, U.K. -- Ahead of the forthcoming release of Luna, a new film by Dave McKean and Producer Simon Moorhead, this official McKean site hopes to capture the imagination of his fan set.
The web portal www.Dmasks.com covers all aspects of McKean’s creative work, from films to graphic novels and his much-loved paintings and artwork, by giving access to a range of information points including social media links, a blog, an interactive forum, a YouTube channel, a film-based website and a shop where fans can purchase a range of DVD’s and books, including exclusive signed and limited edition merchandise.
Inside the portal, fans can access free McKean wallpapers depicting the amazingly powerful images of Mirrormask, The Gospel of Us and Luna, slated for release in spring 2013. They can also enter competitions, view galleries and follow links to other McKean content online.
The retail side of the project aims to offer exclusive and limited edition products as well as signed and rare pieces of his work, much of which will be exclusive to the portal as Dave McKean continues to add to his body of work. The portal has been designed to grow and be updated constantly, so it’s able to present preview film footage, Q & A’s, competitions, McKean news on future projects, exhibitions, festivals and special events.
Although the portal is now launched, it’s still very much in development, with future innovations such as film streaming, an online magazine and fan-funding opportunities for future McKean projects already in the pipeline.
Luna Producer, Simon Moorhead, who has overseen the new web portal build, said “The site will allow us to interact directly with Dave McKean fans and keep them informed about the progress of Dave’s work whilst leaving the man himself free to do the one thing we all want him to do - which is to create new work. The launch represents stage 1, with many interactive elements planned for 2013 on the run-up to the release of Luna and beyond”.
The web portal has been developed by Dorset-based strategic marketing and design agency Cre8ive Wisdom (www.cre8ivewisdom.com), which continues to be retained by the Dave McKean team to further develop the online experience as well as support the marketing of Luna and other future Dave McKean films.
