Viniyoga is an approach which uses the breath as the guide, so all practitioners can work at their own pace and according to their own capabilities.
Postures are done in particular sequences so that old body/mind tensions are not reinforced or new ones created and also so that maximum benefit can be derived from the pose.
Postures are done dynamically, which helps make you stronger and more flexible and prepares the body and mind for holding postures which have a purifying effect on the energy system.
Vinigyoga has as its central text The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which is a summary of 3,000 years of yogic knowledge.
