Houston Area Urban League Auxiliary to Host
Swingin’ & Steppin’ Before the Ball
The Houston Area Urban League Guild (HAUL Guild) along with Flo-Motion Dance Association, and Smooth Flava Swingout will host the Masked Ball Kick-Off - Swingin' & Steppin' Before the Ball - A Swing Out and Two Step Dance Contest . This event is an opportunity to provide the beginner, advanced and inexperienced dancers with an entertaining evening of dancing. This event serves as the Kick-Off for the HAUL Guild’s signature fundraising event – the 15th Annual Masked Ball, a Mardi Gras themed event which is held in February. It is also a fundraiser where proceeds from the event go to support the programs and services of the Houston Area Urban League.
The dance contest is for beginner and advanced dancers, however inexperienced dancers will have an opportunity to “step” and “swing”. Dance contestants in Swing Out and Two Step will compete for cash prizes with the first place winners receiving tickets to HAUL Guild’s 15th Annual Masked Ball. There is a fee for the dance contest and a general admission fee for the event.
