The Cape Town-born full-time medical doctor Stanley Sagov has made quite a name for himself in the music world over the last few years with his sellout Regattabar shows becoming semiannual occasions for jazz fans, friends and medical colleagues to all come together, in one happy evening of jazz and convivial celebration. The band's new CD, Stanley Sagov/Larry Coryell Live in 2012 was recorded at the band's appearance March 31st with Special Guest Larry Coryell. The disc is available on CDBaby.com, itunes and on Dr. Sagov's website: http://www.stanleysagov.com. It will also be available at the shows on November 24.
Last winter, the band was featured live on "Eric In The Evening" on WGBH FM. A video of this performance can be seen here: http://www.youtube.com/
Sagov says, "Jazz is a sexy mix of head and heart, a beautiful fusion of Africa and Europe. It’s America's greatest contribution to world culture and a bittersweet celebration of the aspiration to be free. We play and record our music to paint a picture of a world in which everything counts and everybody is heard and expressed, right now, from the past and impelled by the momentum of our mutual interaction into the future."
