Indie Embroiderer goes global with launch of internet shop

These cloths are composed of five embroideries each, based on a name and day of birth analysis which I prepare for the recipient. The Sew Gaelic “recent projects” link provides photos of work (sometimes work in progress as well in a feature called “painting with thread” where readers try to guess what the finished embroidery will be) along with colorful commentary about the creation of each item and the various choices in thread and fabric.  Stitch and thread counts for each item are provided, because as owner Kate says, “It seems like trivial knowledge – how many threads, how many stitches – but each and every stitch matters. Break the threads at any point and you break the image. Use the wrong thread and the image looks wrong. Leave something out and the image is incomplete. It reminds me of the tapestry of life.”
