Established in 2002, the Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards aim to recognise the size and diversity of the outdoor sector and to highlight the importance of outdoor recreation to the lifestyle of Queenslanders. The Queensland Outdoor Recreation Awards includes eight categories to recognise and reward excellence in outdoor recreation and celebrate individuals and organisations that have made a significant contribution to the outdoor recreation sector.

The K2 Basecamp Encouragement Award - Nathan Sears, Venturer Scouts Queensland, from Capalaba
The Queensland Government Encouraging Participation in Outdoor Recreation Award - Motorcycling Queensland, Queensland Moto Park, Wyaralong
The Queensland Government Environmental Award - Logan Community Trailcare Alliance, Logan City Council, Logan
The Fitness Sport & Recreation Skills Alliance Excellence in Outdoor Instruction and Education Award - Edmund Rice Education Flexible Learning Centre Network, Queensland
The Queensland Outdoor Recreation Federation Government Achievement Award - Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS), for the 2012 Outdoor Recreation operational policies and Memoranda of Understanding
The Brisbane City Council Outdoor Event Award - Kokoda Challenge, organised by the Kokoda Challenge Association, based in Southport, Qld
