New Horizons of Southern California wins several South Bay Workforce Investment Board Awards

Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- New Horizons Computer Learning Centers of Southern California, the world’s largest independent IT training company, was recognized today by the South Bay Workforce Investment Board for its contribution in putting the unemployed back to work.

New Horizons’ Anaheim location was honored for placing 80-90% of its Adobe Certified Expert Web Specialist program graduates into jobs, while its Burbank location was honored for placing 90-100% of its Six Sigma Lean Black Belt with Project Management program into jobs.

In addition, three New Horizons graduates were honored by the Workforce Investment Board.  Lucia Haysom was a graduate of New Horizons’ Microsoft Office Specialist Program that landed a job as a Purchasing Clerk in the summer of 2012.  Andrea LiCausi was a graduate of New Horizons’ Adobe Web Design with Microsoft Backend Development Program that became an Associate Sales Administrator in 2012.  Laura Askew, who received a Six Sigma Lean Black Belt Certification from New Horizons, found a position with Raytheon in February of 2012.

The award event, held at the Ayers Hotel in Hawthorne, included a keynote speech by eleventh term US Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA).
