Sheraton Washington North Selected as Host Location for Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Hours in 2013

Nov. 30, 2012 - PRLog -- Laurel, MD – Black Bag Productions, a full service event planning company based in Laurel, MD and Marie Crawford’s Bridal, a full service bridal boutique based in Frederick, Maryland will partner with the Sheraton Washington North hotel in Beltsville, Maryland as the host location for their Wedding Wednesdays Cocktail Hours in 2013.  “Wedding Wednesday has been an industry term for a couple of years now and Marie and I determined that it would be a great way for brides to meet all of their primary vendors in one location without the madness of a bridal show,” notes Kim Moss, owner of Black Bag Productions.  “When Black Bag Productions came to our shop and asked if we would be the host location for a couple of her live Blog Talk Radio shows, we jumped at the opportunity and the idea of having the cocktail party just evolved,” says Marie Crawford, owner of Marie Crawford’s Bridal based in Frederick Maryland.  "The on demand shows have been a surprise success in the number of listeners and brides who have been in the store during the show have been equally surprised.  It’s really a fun way to do the show,” says Moss, who has been doing on her show on Blog Talk Radio since 2009.  “I came up with the Wedding Wednesday show as a way to build an audience for brides and wedding professionals. Going live for a couple of shows was a natural progression for the show to take, so being able to do the show at a larger venue and event will be the next step.”

The Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Hour kick off took place on October 17 at Crawford’s shop and had several vendors on hand for clients to meet and see their offerings first hand and talk with vendors to plan their upcoming weddings.  Wedding specific vendors have been invited to display their business and include A Touch of Class Limousines, Breasia Studios, Barefoot Digital Images, Color Print Outlet, Patricia’s Professional Photos, Dress the Drink, Kyndall Ty’relle Edible Décor, Windsor Neckwear, Continuum Image Consultants, LeMon Delights, Black Bag Travel and several others.  

The first Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Party for 2013 will take place on Wednesday, February 20 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Sheraton Washington North, 4095 Powder Mill Road, Beltsville, MD.  Admission and parking for attendees will be complimentary with a cash bar and each attendee will receive a special Wedding Wednesday bridal swag bag filled with coupons and other wedding related gifts.  “The Sheraton Washington North is the perfect location for hosting the midweek cocktail party and it gives us an opportunity to display the property,” said Amelia Sinclair, Director of Catering for the hotel.  Sinclair goes on to say that “being right off of Interstate 95 in Beltsville, we are sometimes a “best kept secret” in the area and believe that the Wedding Wednesday cocktail parties we will host in February, May and October will change that in 2013.”  The Sheraton will offer attendees tastings from their cocktail party and wedding reception menus, Kyndall Ty’relle Edible Décor will feature its Kyntini’s or alcohol infused martini cupcakes, LeMon Delights will feature wedding cakes and Dress the Drink will feature their unique spin on reception beverages.

Moss and Crawford, both of whom are certified wedding planners, agreed that there had to be a better way for brides and vendors to connect.  Both noted, “Traditional bridal shows often leave brides feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and as if they have no control or clue about what they really want for their wedding, and the Wedding Wednesday Cocktail Hour aims to change that by giving brides the opportunity to plan, taste, drink, shop and have fun while planning.”
