CityHook App Helps US Travelers to Europe Find the Best Connection between Airports and City Centers

CityHook a new free mobile app has been launched which will help US travelers to Europe to find the best transport connection between airports and nearby city center locations.

Oct. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- CityHook (@CityHook) a new free mobile app has been launched which will help US travelers to Europe to find the best transport connection between airports and nearby city center locations.

CityHook currently covers over 130 different European airports, including Amsterdam Schiphol, Berlin Schönefeld, London Heathrow, Madrid Barajas, Paris Charles de Gaulle and Rome Ciampino.

CityHook is now available to download for free on iPhone and Android smartphones. In addition CityHook (www.cityhook.com) is also accessible online in several languages including French, Italian, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Hungarian, Catalan, Russian and English.

From a passenger’s perspective, finding the best connection between an airport and the nearby city usually involves understanding three key factors; journey time, cost and drop-off location, from all the available travel options. However it is usually difficult for passengers to find complete and independent sources of information for all available modes of transport from airports.

CityHook addresses this issue by quickly providing information about transport options from airports and presenting them in an easy to read format. This makes it easier for passengers to choose the travel option which best suits their needs.

CityHook, which is located at NovaUCD, the Centre for New Ventures and Entrepreneurs at University College Dublin (UCD), Ireland, is the brain child of Irishman Kevin O’Shaughnessy and Italian, Tommaso Solesin who met while completing their Masters degrees at UCD’s Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School.

Speaking about the origins of CityHook, Kevin O’Shaughnessy, co-founder said, “My co-founder Tommaso Solesin and I both love to travel and we realised that every time we landed at a new airport, we were instantly at a loss as to what was the best option to travel into the city centre. We believed other travellers had similar experiences and that’s when the idea of CityHook emerged. We decided that there must be a solution which organises airport transport information and makes that final part of the journey from an airport into a city center easier and less stressful.”

He added, “We are now focusing on growing our product by adding additional airports within Europe and North America and making it as useful as possible for the traveling public.”
