Oct. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- The 14th Annual Tweeds “Sounds of the Season”  Holiday Home Tour and Virtual Marketplace will take place in Woodland Park, CO on Saturday, December 1, 2012, 10am to 4pm, and Sunday, December 2, 2012 from 12 pm to 4pm.

The 2012 Tour features a unique array of five beautifully decorated homes and one business located in the Woodland Park area, all with live musical entertainment. For your shopping pleasure, a “virtual” online marketplace (visit http://www.wphht.org) will also offer many items you will not be able to live without! In addition each location will share a collectible recipe card for a delicious holiday snack.

Proceeds from this year’s event will benefit three Teller County programs. The Teller Senior Coalition (TSC) assists Teller County senior citizens in living full and active lives with dignity and independence. The TSC is raising funds for a new Senior Citizens’ Center. The Woodland Aquatic Project (WAP) seeks to build a state-of-the-art community-centric Aquatic Center within the city limits of Woodland Park that will provide a variety of recreational and wellness activities, as well as aquatic, competitive and safety programs. And the Woodland Park Hockey Association (WPHA) dedicated to the promotion and encouragement of amateur hockey for Woodland Park and the greater Teller County area.

While each project has its own well-defined purpose, these three nonprofit organizations share one common goal: to support the residents of Teller County by providing a variety of services and facilities.

"We are very excited to have Tweeds Fine Furnishings  (visit  www.tweedsfurntiure.com) as our underwriting sponsor for the 14th Annual Holiday Home Tour,” said Kellie Case, event promotions and sponsorship chair.

“Tweeds brings a whole new level to the quality of the tour with their experience and expertise,” she continued.

“We have some beautiful venues this year to include a Holiday Hospitality House and the new online Virtual Marketplace where guests will be able to bid on many one-of-a-kind items from an exclusive lot in Paradise at Pikes Peak (visit http://www.paradiseatpikespeak.com) to a weekend stay-cation at Bronco Billy’s in Cripple Creek, to a 1982 Corvette and six, tanned cowhides from Brazil! There is something for everyone and we hope to see everyone there!"

Other key sponsors of the 2012 event include KRDO NewsChannel 13, the Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company, Paradise At Pikes Peak, Sheena Harper Photography, Kristyn Cline Agency of Farmers Insurance Group, perini and associates, Pikes Peak Regional Hospital, Absolute Workout Fitness Studio, IREA, Ramsay, Stattman, Vela & Price Inc., Langley Architects, Alec Builders, Open Range Construction Co., Bronco Billy’s Hotel and Casino, the UPS Store #1374 (Woodland Park) and many other businesses and citizens of the greater Teller County area.

“I have had the pleasure of working on the Holiday Home Tour for the entire fourteen years. It has evolved from a one-day event with handmade signage and only local exposure, to a two-day tour accompanied by a media night and the online Virtual Marketplace, said Karolyn Smith, event coordinator.

“The tour would not be possible without the gracious residents who are willing to open their homes, and the many volunteers who work tirelessly to make this fundraiser as success.”

Make sure to begin your day’s adventure at the Holiday Hospitality House located at the entrance to the Paradise @ Pikes Peak, 841 Majestic Parkway, a premiere development in Woodland Park located behind Walgreen’s. Enjoy homemade cookies, apple cider and hot chocolate before taking a hayride to 1040 Regal Way, the first home on this year’s tour and then loop back to the parking area. Hayrides will go from 11am to 3pm each day.

Tickets may be purchased at retailers throughout Woodland Park, starting on November 6th, or online via PayPal at www.wphht.org. Ticket prices are $15 each or two for $25 if purchased in advance, $17 each the day of the event and children/students (K-12) are $5 each. Tickets purchased through PayPal will be available for pickup at the Holiday Home Tour Hospitality House (841 Majestic Parkway, Woodland Park) on the day of the event.
