Classic Design Concepts Transforms 2013 Ford Fusion Into “Talladega” Dream Car

Oct. 25, 2012 - PRLog -- TROY, Mich. – Oct. 25, 2012 – Classic Design Concepts (http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/) (CDC), the nation’s leader in the design and manufacture of custom restyling components for American performance and specialty vehicles, will unveil the 2013 Ford Fusion that the company transformed into the coolest four-door car on the street during SEMA in Las Vegas on Oct. 31. Nicknamed “Talladega” for its sporty features, enhanced power and fierce racing stance, many components featured on this Fusion will be available through CDC.

“We’re turning the 2013 Fusion into an exciting dream machine,” said George Huisman, CEO of Classic Design Concepts. “We pumped up the horsepower then completely revamped the exterior and interior with incredible styling cues giving the car a whole new look and leaving the Fusion with street performance credibility. This is not your mother’s Fusion; it’s a redesigned ride that enthusiasts will want to drive.”

With an upgraded 300 plus horsepower, the Fusion “Talladega” will offer drivers an exceptional experience in a mid-size vehicle. The team sharpened the braking with Wilwood six-piston calipers up front, four-piston calipers in the rear and two piece 14-inch rotors all around. The team then stiffened the suspension with an adjustable coilover suspension by Pedders for better handling.

Exclusive “Talladega” badging was added to the exterior and interior of the Fusion, making it a stand out in the crowd. The team then swapped the traditional Ford bar grilles for CDC’s upper and lower big air replacement grilles. CDC added a new chin spoiler, side rockers, lower rear valance and rear decklid spoiler for an overall edgy demeanor. The hot rod Ford sits on “Talladega Wheel” 19” rims and high performance tires.

Inside, CDC added a Kicker Sound System featuring four L-7 subwoofers, 1000 watt mono amplifier and amp interface. The ride also comes with a navigation screen that plays movies to give driver’s the ultimate cruising experience. A complete performance-style custom interior was added to the Fusion, including black leather and suede seats with silver accent stitching provided by Alea leather interiors. The company then embellished the interior with “Talladega” badges, while the door panels are accented with tasteful contrasting colors, custom door sill plates and embroidered floor mats to round out the package.

SEMA (http://www.semashow.com/the-sema-show) attendees can check out the Fusion and other CDC special projects at booth 21335 at the Las Vegas Convention Center from Tuesday, Oct. 30, to Friday, Nov. 2. Guests are also encouraged to attend the Automotive Performance Industries (API) / Classic Design Concepts press conference on Wednesday, Oct. 31, at 9 a.m. PT at the booth to hear the latest news coming out of the newly unveiled API facility in Troy, Michigan.
