Just Added! Nederlands Dans Theater's "Move to Move" in Hi-Def at BIG ARTS

Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- BIG ARTS opens its 2012-2013 Opera & Ballet in Cinema season Thursday, November 15 with a screening of Nederlands Dans Theater’s Move to Move. The season continues December 14 with the opera, Peter Grimes, Norma (January 10), Carmen (February 27), Don Quixote (March 27), and The Rite of Spring (April 11). All screenings are 7 p.m. at BIG ARTS Schein Performance Hall, 900 Dunlop, Road, Sanibel; general admission $20.

The Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) comes to the big screen at BIG ARTS with Move to Move, an evening of four contemporary dance masterpieces: “Left Right Left Right” choreographed by Alexander Ekman; “Secus” by Ohad Naharin; and Sol Léon and Paul Lightfoot’s  “Silent Screen” and “Shine A Light.” Don’t miss this performance the Sunday Herald calls a “retina-shredding spectacle of passion and power” by “the world’s most magnificent dancers.” One of the leading contemporary dance companies in the world, the NDT was born in 1959 with a passion to develop the emerging world of modern dance.

         Wagner’s Lohengrin opera will not be shown December 7, and La Bayadère ballet will not be shown on November 15, as was scheduled.
