Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- LifeLine Ambulance Service the region’s fastest growing ambulance firm and healthcare service/transportation provider has introduced an ‘amphibious ambulance’ to the market.

At present, LifeLine has only one such amphibious vehicle, but CEO Connor said that they are viewing the introduction of the first amphibious vehicle as a pilot program, and that he may add several more amphibious vehicles to the LifeLine fleet within the next year. The company utilized the vehicle this past summer and is considering expanding its footprint in 2013.

The amphibious ambulance has initially been available for use on the lakes and ponds in Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire, and in the rivers and bays. He expects that, as the program expands, the ambulance will be used as backup for a number of planned outdoor events, including sailing competitions, Iron man triathlons and other such events.

This comes on the heels of another novel introduction to the market of the ‘ambulette,’ a medically-outfitted van capable of multi-passenger transport and able to accommodate the individual needs of wheelchair patients and or those requiring transport by stretcher.

As LifeLine Ambulance celebrates its sixth anniversary, Connor noted that the industry has changed significantly during his 30+-year tenure in the field. “We need to be nimble and innovative, always looking to make certain that we anticipate and meet the needs of the communities we serve,” he said, adding, “We believe there is a real future for amphibious vehicles and I expect other companies will soon follow suit, which will benefit everyone who enjoys the water sports..”
