LULU DIKANA ~ A breath of fresh air....

Oct. 24, 2012 - PRLog -- New South African vocalist Lulu Dikana is breaking all kinds of barriers nowadays.

There is one defining feature of Lulu’s career – her quite brilliant artistic gifts and a trademark sense of integrity.

Just ask her fans. No sooner had Lulu released her debut album ‘This Is the Life’ to critical acclaim and positive radio reception (for songs like ‘Number 1’ and ‘Walking Miracle’), she was off performing nightly. “I’m a very spiritual person” says Lulu.

“The thing that gets me through each day is prayers and the power of words,” this acclaimed songwriter says. “Words have so much power. What you say happens – I really believe that. When I was growing up I used to tell my sisters from a young age not to say things they didn’t mean because of the power of words.”

Lulu is glowing with life and eager for the spotlight. – With a brand new band behind her, the vocalist/ songwriter is about to launch herself skywards and globally with her creativity.

“Life has made me an even more responsible writer,” she says simply. ‘I have always used my music as some kind of vehicle to inform people and inspire them – but I believe this even more so now. I know that I have put my belief in the power of words to the test, so I need to think very carefully about what I write in the future,” Lulu says.

The songs on ‘This Is the Life’ are still so very relevant, something like ‘Keep Moving’ is all about living your life from the inside – finding that strength inside of you, no matter what the physical tells you. Other songs – like ‘Saviour” and “He Loves Me” - are similarly as impacting now as when they were first recorded and it’s no surprise to find radio is still very receptive to Lulu’s work.

At the centre of it all is Lulu’s strong, emotional and powerful voice – and her intensely personal words that prove she’s got what it takes to make a real career out of her music. It’s no surprise, given her musical lineage which includes sister Zonke and her late father’s jazz talents.

“I am a songwriter and a singer – I know that for certain now,” Lulu states firmly. “My success is going to be judged on how my music impacts the world – not by how many units I may have sold or what awards I have won. Connecting with people in a personal way that means something in their life is why I am doing this.” And there is no better place to feel this than through the amazing Lulu Dikana and her album “This Is the Life”

Lulu Dikana recently also forged an alliance with top music executive Mark Miller, who has worked with some of the biggest names in the music business. Miller says "Lulu Dikana has the potential to become a massive star. Her music, her performance, and her outlook on life will guide her on an upward momenteum that no one has seen in a very long time".
