The Monday before the general election you are invited to “Talk Politics over a Microbrew.” This event will feature a Business and Political Mixer, hotdog eating competition with the Official American Festival Dogs, a classic car show presented by Carrera Coachwerks, live music, exhibitors and speakers. For kids, the event will offer the opportunity to meet American legends including Abraham Lincoln and others who will be available for photos. Other kids’ activities include a ring toss, marble competition and much more. The Freedom Festival and the Business and Political Mixer is hosted by and benefits Heartland Sustainable Housing and the KOA. Heartland Sustainable Housing, a division of Heartland Coalition 501(c) (3) is a San Diego based organization that works with private and institutional partners to provide viable purchase opportunities to low to moderate-income homebuyers. HSH serves as a community resource to aid distressed homeowners in regaining self-sufficiency through homeowner counseling events, financial management courses, and foreclosure prevention programs. There are three primary goals of the Heartland Sustainable Housing program. First, it seeks to stabilize communities by purchasing REO properties that require extensive renovation. Second, commitment to job development is realized through hands-on green job training. New apprentices learn valuable job skills and put them to work on Heartland Sustainable Housing program projects. Lastly, to fulfill their mission of community stabilization by helping low to moderate income families purchase the homes they renovate. Each completed project represents a small step towards community stabilization goals. The event will feature workshops, speakers and mixer events targeted at revitalizing American businesses and exports as well as the American Dream. Freedom Festival is dedicated to connecting people to resources and information for establishing our original values as Americans. The Festival is to bring together pioneers dedicated to the promise of the “American Dream”, as well as the prospect of growing businesses that promote the American economy and jobs.
