FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 24, 2012 - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (October 24, 2012) – Volpe and Koenig, P.C., an intellectual property law firm with offices in Philadelphia and Princeton, New Jersey, announced that the Mercer Museum and Interfaith Hospitality Network will each receive grants through the firm’s 6th Annual IPromiseTM Charitable Giving Fund (“IPromise”).  Established in 2007, IPromise helps two qualifying Greater Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ area non-profit organizations continue their good work by awarding them each a $20,000 grant.  This year, local ‘health & human services’ and ‘arts & culture’ organizations were eligible to apply.  Of over 50 organizations that applied, four were selected as finalists whose representatives presented on the particular projects / missions that would benefit from the grant.  Volpe and Koenig’s IPromise Charitable Giving Fund has presented more than $180,000 to date to local non-profit organizations, including those that support: community development; arts & culture; education; animal welfare; health & human services; and veteran causes.

The Mercer Museum, located in Doylestown, PA, and owned and operated by the Bucks County Historical Society, offers permanent and changing exhibits related to life in pre-Industrial America.  The Mercer Museum is the regional coordinator for National History Day, an educational program offering middle and high school students the opportunity to engage in historical scholarship.  The IPromise grant will help the organization to advance History Day’s local reach by: (1) establishing a History Day database to track past projects and serve as a recruitment tool for area teachers; (2) support site visits to schools in Bucks and Montgomery Counties; and (3) establish a scholarship fund to support the participation of four new schools from underserved communities.  Said Mercer Museum Executive Director Doug Dolan, “We are extremely grateful to Volpe and Koenig's IPromise program for helping to fund the advancement of the National History Day for students throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties."

Interfaith Hospitality Network of the Main Line ("IHN"), located in Norristown, PA, is a self-sufficiency program for homeless families with children.  Services to families include assisting parents to construct a solid resume, prep and dress for interviews, as well as working with them to apply for jobs in the area.  The IPromise grant will provide daycare for children in the program while the parents search for employment and begin working.  Said Sue White-Hercheck, Executive Director of IHN, “We are pleased and honored to have been selected for Volpe and Koenig’s IPromise grant for this year.  The grant will expand the help we are able to offer our families so they can move into permanent or transitional housing with an increase in income and self-reliance.”

Based in Philadelphia and Princeton, NJ, Volpe and Koenig, P.C. provides counsel on patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, technology acquisitions, licensing and litigation to small and large businesses and multi-national organizations.  For additional information, please visit www.vklaw.com.
