The Gallery Park Hotel's on-site restaurant, Renommé, has just come out with a new seasonal menu that features appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and, of course, desserts. With the arrival of autumn, Renommé invites its guests to immerse themselves in the surprising world of Latvian and French cuisine, offering full-course meals prepared in an unconventional way, every day from 13:00 to 22:00. The restaurant's head chef has come up with carefully orchestrated culinary compositions, ensuring that the ingredients are ideally compatible and create a harmony of flavors. We strive to make every meal an aesthetic joy, and welcome you to finish it off with one of our beguiling desserts.
All of the dishes – beginning with appetizers and ending with dessert – reflect the themes of autumn: fresh, seasonal ingredients, warm foods for cool days, and salads and desserts bursting with the colors and flavors of autumn. Our new special offer, “Latvian Classics, Renommé-style”, consists of three courses – appetizer, entree and dessert. Appetizers include either a Riga rye bread waffle, stuffed with traditional Latvians fillings (such as herbed farmer's cheese, anchovies, fish roe and other delicacies), or the traditional favorite of head cheese/brawn, prepared without gelatin and with a mustard sauce on the side. For entrees, there's a choice of slow-cooked salmon with powdered rye bread and herbs – which literally melts on the tongue! – or our trademark herb-encrusted pork chops with a wine and citrus sauce – a true culinary masterpiece. And for dessert, Renommé head chef Raimonds Tempelfelds recommends the classic warm pudding with Riga Black Balsam and caramel sauce.
The word “Renommé” is French for “renown”, and it has been given to the restaurant for good reason: the establishment is renown for its superb reputation, hospitality and location – it is situated in Latvia's only category “5* Superior” hotel, the Gallery Park Hotel. The opulent interior of the hotel's bar and restaurant is elegantly set off by painted ceilings, unique wooden wall paneling (boissery – sourced from a 19th century French chateau), Persian carpets, and the latest hi-tech accessories. Captivating furnishings draw guests to take a closer look at details, such as the collection of wine labels from the great French winery Chateau Mouton Rothschild, or the Bordeaux Wine Official Classification rankings, which have also been displayed in an interesting and astute manner.
