Corrie star Fiz Stape, played by Jennie McAlpine, will fall prey to the silent killer in a story that is bound to grip the millions who watch the show.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) report that there are around 50 deaths a year in the UK from accidental CO poisoning in England and Wales – with around 4,000 people admitted to hospital with CO symptoms.
A recent survey by Gas Safety Week highlighted the confusion about CO poisoning – with many under the misconception that symptoms include memory loss and a funny taste in the mouth.
