PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 23, 2012 - Among the many things to do this holiday season, Chicagoans will have the opportunity to attend the musical adaptation of the popular holiday tale, How The Grinch Stole Christmas! The classic Dr. Seuss book, also well known in its animated form, will come to the Cadillac Palace Theatre located at 151 W Randolph St, starting December 5 and running through December 16.

Stefan Karl, the villain in Nickelodeon’s popular children's television show Lazy Town and the lead in the 2010 film Little People, stars as the Grinch, and narration will be done by various cast members through the character of Max the Dog.

The musical is produced by Jack O’Brien, who has numerous Broadway credits, including a Tony Award-winning production of Henry IV and Hairspray, with music composed by Mel Marvin. Marvin has also composed The Grinch on Broadway, which earned him a Tony nomination. Matt August is the director, and has directed all the Broadway productions of the musical, as well as those in Los Angeles, and all other national tour productions.

Ticket prices range from $18 to $85 depending on the performance and seating location. The Cadillac Palace Theatre is often considered to be “Broadway in Chicago” and seats over 2000 on all levels. The elegant theater features a grandeur rarely seen in Chicago and was designed by the famous theater architects, the Rapp Brothers. The palace part of its name comes from the inspiration of the Fontainebleau and Versailles palaces in its interior construction in an attempt to harken back to a time when theatre was the main form of entertainment for the masses..
