Oct. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- PLANO, Texas – Oct. 23, 2012 – Cirro Energy, a subsidiary of Dominion Resources, is helping return the iconic pumpkin patch to the Fort Worth Zoo’s Boo at the Zoo celebration.  This year, Boo at the Zoo is being celebrated from noon to 5 pm over two weekends: October 19-21 and October 26-28, 2012. For these few special nights, trick-or-treaters will have the opportunity to wander the Cirro Energy Pumpkin Patch and enjoy many thrills throughout the Zoo.

“Fort Worth’s Boo at the Zoo has earned a reputation for consistently delivering one of the most fun, quality and family-friendly events in North Texas each year,” said Mike Rose, managing director of Cirro Energy. “We’re pleased that our sponsorship will help make this fall tradition possible for the community, while giving us the chance to educate consumers about how they can consistently enjoy better electricity rates.”

The Fort Worth Zoo’s Halloween celebration runs from noon to 5 p.m. over two weekends, October 19-21 and October 26-28.  Children are welcome to wear their favorite Halloween costumes to sample new carnival games, a tot spot, crafts and candy, as well as a fabulous array of animals.

Zookeepers will incorporate Boo-themed activities throughout the park.  Zoo guests will also enjoy a Halloween-themed stage show featuring the Zoo’s Wild Wonders animals in the Outdoor Learning Theater. This year, Cirro Energy has made possible the return of one of the most popular activities, the famous “pumpkin patch.”

“The pumpkin patch was once among the most popular Boo at the Zoo traditions,” added Rose.  “The Fort Worth Zoo asked us to help them bring it back, to delight parents with an opportunity to snap photos of their kids in such a picturesque location.  The Cirro Energy Pumpkin Patch gives families a way to capture their enchanted afternoon.”

The main portion of Boo at the Zoo — carnival games, crafts, tot spot and trick-or-treating — will take place at the Zoo’s Special Events Pavilions. Admission to the site is $3 per person and charged for all ages. Other Halloween-themed animal enrichment throughout the park and the stage show can be enjoyed with the price of regular Zoo admission. Boo at the Zoo tickets are available for purchase inside the Zoo.

The nationally acclaimed Fort Worth Zoo has been ranked the No. 5 zoo in the nation by USA Travel Guide and the No. 1 attraction in the DFW Metroplex by Zagat survey. The Zoo is home to more than 500 animal species and a world-famous reptile collection, housed in the new Museum of Living Art. The institution is focused on education and conservation, enhancing the lives of more than 1 million visitors a year. For more information about Boo at the Zoo, visit www.fortworthzoo.org.
