Boscoe France Band Wins River Basin Blues Society Contest in Evansville, Ind.

The Boscoe France Band, fronted by the act's namesake who is the 2012 winner of Guitar Center's Battle of the Blues, won the River Basin Blues Society contest, earning the band a slot to compete at the upcoming International Blues Challenge.
 
Oct. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- The Boscoe France Band, fronted by the act's namesake who is the 2012 winner of Guitar Center's Battle of the Blues contest, took first place honors October 21 at a competition sponsored by the River Basin Blues Society in Evansville, Ind. The win earned the three-piece band the opportunity to compete at the 29th Annual International Blues Challenge, set for January 29-Febuary 2, 2013, in Memphis, Tenn.

"The competition yesterday was really tough," says Lanette Miller, president, River Basin Blues Society in Evansville, Ind., describing the talent of the top two contenders,The Boscoe France Band and Lary Caddell and his band Three Shades of Grey. "We, the River Basin Blues Society, could not be more proud that the Boscoe France Band will represent us at the International Blues Challenge. I know they will go to Memphis in January 2013 and 'rock their world!' God Bless them and Best of luck."

The River Basin Blues Society triumph comes less than two months after France, as a solo guitarist, beat out approximately 4,000 guitarists to win Guitar Center's 2012 blues guitar contest, which held its Grand Finals in Los Angeles.

Now, the Boscoe France Band, with France on guitar, John Gillespie on bass and Jimmy Cummings on drums, will represent the River Basin Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in early 2013, where an estimated 750 musicians from 40 states and 15 countries will vie for prizes and recognition in front of representatives from record labels, media, festivals, managers, talent buyers and fans.

"The Boscoe France Band was very fortunate to earn a spot in The International Blues Challenge at the River Basin Blues Society competition," France says. "We are Memphis-bound in the New Year. I am very humbled by 35 years of coming up short," adds the 35-year-old guitarist. "These blessings are not lost on me. Don't give up on your dreams. God is good."
