"The competition yesterday was really tough," says Lanette Miller, president, River Basin Blues Society in Evansville, Ind., describing the talent of the top two contenders,The Boscoe France Band and Lary Caddell and his band Three Shades of Grey. "We, the River Basin Blues Society, could not be more proud that the Boscoe France Band will represent us at the International Blues Challenge. I know they will go to Memphis in January 2013 and 'rock their world!' God Bless them and Best of luck."
The River Basin Blues Society triumph comes less than two months after France, as a solo guitarist, beat out approximately 4,000 guitarists to win Guitar Center's 2012 blues guitar contest, which held its Grand Finals in Los Angeles.
Now, the Boscoe France Band, with France on guitar, John Gillespie on bass and Jimmy Cummings on drums, will represent the River Basin Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge in early 2013, where an estimated 750 musicians from 40 states and 15 countries will vie for prizes and recognition in front of representatives from record labels, media, festivals, managers, talent buyers and fans.
"The Boscoe France Band was very fortunate to earn a spot in The International Blues Challenge at the River Basin Blues Society competition,"
