Oct. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- BUENA PARK, Calif.— Yamaha Keyboard Division will re-broadcast select performances by pianists playing the Yamaha Disklavier at The Monterey Jazz Festival 2012. Held on September 21-23, 2012, the legendary festival celebrated its 55th year of presenting the world’s most talented established and emerging jazz artists.

The re-broadcasts kicked off on Friday, October 19, with Gerald Clayton, a recent addition to Yamaha’s exceptional Piano Artist roster, who performed selections from his first two albums, “Two-Shade” and “Bond: The Paris Sessions,” among others. Combining perfectly synchronized video and audio plus MIDI broadcast from a single location to multiple locations, these re-performances will be available “on demand” from Friday through Monday so viewers with an enabled Disklavier who missed the original broadcast can enjoy it at their convenience, whenever they want, as often as they want.

Other re-performances will include Judy Roberts (with Greg Fishman) and The Tierney Sutton Band. All performances will be re-broadcast to select locations nationwide and will also be made available to owners of RemoteLive enabled Disklavier performance-reproducing pianos.

“Only Yamaha has the capability of defying time and space to bring a live performance to the comfort of your living room,” says Yamaha Disklavier Marketing Manager Jim Levesque. “Through Yamaha’s Disklavier RemoteLive technology, musical artists, educators and audiences continue to be connected in ways previously unimaginable.”

RemoteLive enables a pianist to perform live in one location and have his or her exact keystrokes and pedal movements transmitted live and in real time to other networked Disklavier pianos anywhere in the world. Disklavier RemoteLive is redefining how piano performance and education is shared and experienced. Beyond leaving audiences delighted and stunned, the technology has also drawn media attention from ABC News, Time Magazine and New York 1 News.

Held annually at the 20-acre Monterey Fairground, the festival features over 500 jazz artists performing on nine stages. Beyond some of the biggest names in jazz, the event showcases jazz conversations, panel discussions, workshops, exhibitions, clinics and an international array of food, shopping and festivities. A non-profit organization, The Monterey Jazz Festival has donated its proceeds to music education every year since its inception in 1958. Beyond providing the Festival’s pianos and drums, Yamaha donates instruments to festival-affiliated jazz education programs throughout the year.
