Follow on Google News | Carmel Valley Ranch to host first annual Cherish Receiving Center Benefit for foster childrenThe event proceeds benefit abused and neglected foster children
The festivities will begin at 1:30 p.m. in the resort’s Clubhouse. Guests will have the opportunity to take in the stunning views of the grounds while experiencing moments of nostalgia as they celebrate some of their most beloved childhood memories. Attendees will be treated to a fun-filled afternoon of music, games and an array of gourmet foods. Guests will also be able to participate in a silent auction; one of the items for bid is a private dinner prepared by Carmel Valley Ranch Executive Chef Tim Wood, to be held in the winning bidder’s home. All proceeds for the event will benefit the Cherish Receiving Center located in Monterey County. The center is a safe haven for youth to go when they are removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Guest speakers will include former foster youth sharing life experiences, as well as industry professionals who will share information about how to further support the center. “Getting the community involved is so critical to helping Cherish Receiving Center achieve its goals. Without engaged support from the community in the form of financial support and volunteering, we could never reach all of the youth that so desperately need our services,” said Rosalinda Rodriguez, District Director at Aspiranet. “We hope the beauty of our resort will inspire the afternoon’s guests to reminisce their childhood and support the Cherish Receiving Center and Aspiranet,” said Brian Gipson, Carmel Valley Ranch Director of Sales and Marketing. “We are proud to partner with great organizations who work tirelessly to care for our community’s children.” Individual tickets for the event will be sold for $100 per person. About Carmel Valley Ranch Long known as a golf and tennis resort in an idyllic setting in the Santa Lucia Mountains, the new Carmel Valley Ranch (http://www.carmelvalleyranch.com) debuted in the Fall of 2010 as a completely fresh kind of experiential resort. Under the new ownership of Geolo Capital the resort has been infused with a sense of whimsy and play. On sprawling grounds shaded by ancient oaks in the foothills, where deer roam and fields of lavender abound, leisure and corporate guests are afforded ample opportunity to interact with the environment. Guests are invited to learn the art of beekeeping, challenge themselves physically on the miles of hiking trails, or join the chef in the organic garden and then in the Adventure Kitchen. The Ranch is located just inland from Carmel-by-the Sea and is an easy drive from San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
