Fountain Valley, CA -- Former Fountain Valley School Board trustee Nicola Weiss has entered the Fountain Valley school board race as a write in candidate for the November election. Weiss announced her decision following a forum for school board candidates, citing her experience and background in the Fountain Valley school district as one of her key reasons for entering the race. “I have the experience and background that will definitely benefit the Fountain Valley School District when we have difficult decisions to make in these trying times. My connection to teachers, families, and the community will help keep our district as successful at it as it has been. I believe that these connections and knowledge will help us during these difficult times,” said Weiss in making her announcement. Weiss previously served on the Fountain Valley school board from November, 2009-to December, 2010. In addition, she has volunteered with the Fountain Valley Education Foundation, Action Committee for Education, the PTA, The Superintendent Parent Council, and the Fountain Valley Community Foundation. Weiss’ entry into the school board race is a last minute decision, accounting for her status as a write in candidate. The Fountain Valley School Board district race will be held at the same time as the general elections on November 6. Voters will elect two candidates for the board.
