By: Bootique Fitness Zumba is a Colombian dance fitness program created by dancer and choreographer Alberto “Beto” Perez in the 1990s. The cardio exercise incorporates dance and aerobic moves borrowed from all types of choreography including: hip-hop, samba, salsa, mambo, martial arts and more. Zumba is a modern day craze with over 12 million people participating regularly across the globe. “Exercising is an amazing way for friends and families to come together in a healthy, exciting way. Zumba is not only fun, but it has positive effects on your cardiovascular health, endurance and overall mood and well-being. I can’t think of a better way to give back and give Zumba to the community,” said President of Bootique Fitness, Jaylin Allen.
