Whispering Hills Apartments in Barnegat to Open in November

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 23, 2012 - Walters Group, a local residential and commercial real estate developer, will be welcoming the new residents of Whispering Hills Apartments, an affordable rental community. The first eight-unit building will become the home for Whispering Hills' first residents on November 1. "This component of the Whispering Hills community will offer high-quality, affordable living opportunities for local families in need and will further help to stimulate economic growth in the area," said Ed Walters Jr., president of the Walters Group.

The entire project is slated for completion in January 2013. The new residences will consist of seven low-rise buildings, featuring spacious one-, two-, and three-bedroom units. Each apartment will be equipped with Energy Star-rated appliances, designed to help residents save as much as 30 percent on energy usage.

Green building methods and materials are being used to construct Whispering Hills Apartments. The eco-friendly community is designed to meet both LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) and Energy Star certification. LEED is a green rating system created by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Onsite amenities include a tot-lot playground and a recreational field. The community is adjacent to the Barnegat leg of Ocean County's "Rails to Trails" walking trails and is ideally positioned near abundant recreational amenities including swimming, fishing, and boating.

Barnegat is a coastal community offering residents proximity to Atlantic City, Philadelphia and New York City. The town has been recognized for its outstanding quality-of-life, including exceptional recreational amenities and a respected educational school system.

Individuals and families with incomes no higher than 60 percent of the Ocean County area median income for households are eligible tenants.
