In the early 2000's when Tim Hampton began writing books about his career as a prison guard, and also about his life, he never imagined that someday he would be turning his works into audio format. Hampton 38, who resides in Tampa, Florida where he is a single father, successfully published 3 books in which 2 made best seller lists, and the 3rd gaining the attention of Hollywood film producers. Now almost a over decade later he finds himself having the attention and success in 3 new stoies, only this time, they are in the form of audiobooks. "One day I just thought to myself, what would happen if I recorded myself reading my own story", states Hampton, who did just that when he contacted local music producers and engineers who liked the idea and allowed him to record in between breaks of recording music albums. Tim read his first ever novel "Holding My Own', a story he wrote about his experiences while working as a prison guard in the Texas prison system. "When I finished reading the story I listened to it, I was like this needs to come alive!" Coming alive is exactly what producers did to Tim's story as they laid music beats and melodies underneath the words he spoke. Producers also summoned other people to do character voiceovers, and to futher enhance the stories they added a fury of sound effects that were in tune to whatever the subject or setting was within the story. Lisa Garrison a 26 year old film student in Los Angeles states "I downloaded one of Tim Hampton's audiobooks and I was so immersed in it while riding public transportation, that I missed my stop and the next stop as well!" Many people are saying that Tim Hampton's audiobooks are addictive citing the constant action and sound effects. Hampton points out the fact that he writes from the heart of his imagination and creates entertaining stories that makes sense. A story about prison, a story about a police created robot which got on the wrong side of the law, a story about a football player who lost all his fame and fortune due to poor choices, and a story about a hip hop rapper who was found dead, are all part of the collection of audiobooks Tim Hampton has created and made available on his website www.holdingmyown.com for all to enjoy. Hampton, who currently works as a mental health counselor say he plans on creating a horror based audiobook that he claims "will be the scariest audiobook ever" and plans to have it ready by Halloween of 2013.
