Having an extensive experience with offshore software development and several own offshore branches in India, Valtech looked at Ukraine for more frontend development oriented projects, as this skill is easily found within the country. After a thorough evaluation of many IT outsourcing services providers, Valtech chose to partner with Ciklum and set up its own Agile software development center in Kharkov, Ukraine.
“Ciklum was chosen amongst a number of other suppliers due to the fact that its office in Kharkov had the closest match to our own organization as it had a Scandinavian feel to it,” says Jakob Vasehus, Director of Client Delivery at Valtech. “Ciklum also provided the most attractive workplace for our future employees in Ukraine.”
Ciklum will be assisting Valtech with a frontend web development on platforms such as Sitecore and EPiServer. Valtech is planning to substantially grow its own Agile team with Ciklum in the next 6 to 8 months.
Both Ciklum and Valtech have great expectations for the partnership. According to Jakob Vasehus, “We are growing rapidly in Valtech and in Ciklum we see a partner that can help us grow even further by leveraging our onshore teams with talented new colleagues in Ukraine.”
Commenting on the partnership, Esben Ridder, Ciklum Client Service Manager, says: “We have a good pool of frontend developers in Kharkov to meet the most sophisticated demands of Valtech and ensure a realistic team growth in a mid to long term. We also believe that the Scandinavian look and feel of our Kharkov office as well as the overall company culture will allow Valtech to treat their nearshore team just like an integral part of their onshore Agile team and improve their in-house operations via the enhanced knowledge sharing and business networking we provide in Ciklum.”
