Their dealership has been raising money in a number of ways, including T-shirt sales, bake sales, online donations, and even donation cards at their dealership. They also accepted donations online for their participation Sunday, October 21 in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Providence, RI. Thanks to generous donations received in the time leading up to the event, the organization raised well over half a million dollars, and Silko Honda is pleased to have contributed.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk has a venerable tradition. Not only does it raise both funds and awareness for combating the disease, but it also presents a unique opportunity to bring survivors together in a powerful and inspiring show of solidarity. The program was started more than two decades ago, and since that time breast cancer death rates have dropped by over 32%.
Despite the enormous progress that’s been made over the years, there’s still more to be done. Half of all women who are diagnosed with breast cancer contact the American Cancer Society for help, and the organization has provided invaluable support not only to survivors, but also to fundraising initiatives to raise money for new treatments, research, and services for those coping with the disease.
Silko Honda is proud to be a part of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer program, and is proud of all of their community and charitable initiatives. They’re also proud to offer a huge selection of new and pre-owned vehicles at competitive prices to drivers throughout the area. Prospective buyers who visit their dealership can be assured of doing business with a dealership that’s committed to a noble cause.
