The award winning home was certified under ICC-700 National Green Building Standard at the Emerald level, which is the highest rating level. This home was also the first modular home to achieve the Emerald level in NY State. Epoch Homes has been involved in Green Building for over 15 years, and is the only Green Approved modular factory in the US. This home was built for Modern Cottage of Hudson, NY and is located in Ancram, NY in the Hudson Valley. The initial design was by the architectural firm Turkel Design.
John Ela, Epoch CEO and owner stated, “While all Epoch Homes are built to be certifiable at least at the Bronze level, it is exciting when we have an opportunity to work with a customer to push the envelope and to build one of the greenest homes in the country. The work we have done to implement new wall systems and green design elements, as well as the support tools we have developed to facilitate the design efforts of our builder network, create a culture and process to promote Green Building.” He continued, “It is an honor to again be recognized by our peers for our leadership in building beautiful green homes.” Epoch Homes also won the BSC award in 2010.
These, along with other award winning homes can be seen at www.epochhomes.com. The award winning projects will also be on display at the 2013 International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.
