Christine Deschaine of Lee & Associates Receives Top Award from CREW Los Angeles

Oct. 23, 2012 - PRLog -- Christine Deschaine, principal of Lee & Associates LA North/Ventura Inc., was honored at CREW-LA’s annual “Women at the Top” award ceremony, which took place October 18 at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. In addition to Deschaine, four other women were honored at the event, which focused on the ability to balance career and activities outside of the workplace. Deschaine’s “art of balance” was her retail brokerage activity and her volunteer initiatives.

The other women honored included Susan Booth of Holland & Knight and Tori Robinson of Old Republic Title, Co., both from the commercial real estate industry, and Shireen Enayati and Elizabeth Thompson, who were named “Women on the Rise.”

“As a long time supporter of CREW-LA and an advocate for women in the industry, I am so honored to be recognized alongside Susan, Tori, Shireen and Elizabeth,” said Deschaine. “This award is being given to me, but truly belongs to my family, business associates, mentors and local and global outreach leaders, who all help me balance my passion for helping others with my drive for success.”

With more than 18 years of experience in retail tenant and landlord representation, Deschaine consistently ranks among the top producers of Lee & Associates and was one of the firm’s first females partners. Specializing in urban redevelopment with some of Los Angeles’ most prominent retail developers, she has been an integral part of the resurgence of neighborhoods such as Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, downtown Burbank Village, Hollywood Boulevard and Culver City.

In addition to her career achievements, Deschaine is actively involved in a variety of local charities such as Harvest Home, Hope Gardens Family Center and the Women’s Foundation of California Los Angeles Chapter. She is also a volunteer with international global initiatives, which have taken her from the Amazon River to Kaihura, a small village in Uganda. Her involvement there, through the Tennesse-based Global Support Mission, primarily provides assistance to orphans and vulnerable children who have lost their parents due to violence, poverty or disease.

“Volunteering is what makes my life significant,” said Deschaine. “For me, a child’s smile when you bring them a pair of shoes or simply hold their hand is what outreach work is all about.”

The WATT award comes on the heels of the Los Angeles Business Journal’s “2012 Women Making a Difference” awards, which honored Deschaine as Volunteer of the Year. A retail specialist, Deschaine is also an active member of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
