PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 22, 2012 - Chino, Calif., USGlobalSat Inc., an industry leader in GPS technology, today announced the end of life roadmap for the BT-359 bluetooth GPS receiver.

USGlobalSat’s BT-359 bluetooth GPS receiver has been on the market for well over 5 years, which is quite a long product life-cycle in regards to electronic devices. The BT-359 during is release pushed the limits of GPS hardware by incorporating at the time latest technology such as the SiRF StarIII Low Power GPS chipset for greater sensitivity, a higher degree of accuracy and faster signal acquisition times. The BT-359 communicates with its host device (PDA, Laptop or Smartphone) using a 2.0 Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP), and with it’s built-in ceramic patch antenna, the BT-359 is compact and eliminates the need for any external antenna, while still providing impressive accuracy even within urban canyons and under dense foliage.
A rechargeable and replaceable Li-ion battery offers up to 11 hours of continuous GPS use from a fully charged state. Additional features that make the BT-359 an excellent choice as a GPS receiver are the 3-color status LED’s used to indicate power condition, Bluetooth connectivity and GPS signal status. With available options such as a sturdy belt case, extra batteries and a neck-lanyard, the BT-359 proved to be functional in most any application from vehicle, marine and topographical navigation to GIS data collection.
