Online Voting Starts for Arab Film Fans to Choose Winners of YallaTV Virtual Film Festival

Oct. 22, 2012 - PRLog -- Now through 3 November, 2012, Arab film fans can take advantage of a special opportunity to view and vote for some of this year's best Arab-language short films as the first YallaTV Virtual Film Festival reaches its conclusion.

"We're pleased with the high quality of the films submitted to our online Festival by new and veteran Arab filmmakers," says Aaron Spring, director of marketing for YallaTV.  "Rather than setting up a small panel of jurors to choose the winners, we're empowering everyone that comes to our website to be a juror.  Visitors are invited to screen the films showcased in our Virtual Film Festival and vote for their favorite title.  It's a terrific way to give film lovers a voice in recognizing some of the best new work produced by Arab filmmakers."

By participating in the 2012 YallaTV Virtual Film Festival, online voters will also help determine which filmmakers will receive financial awards. "Significant cash prizes are at stake," says YallaTV producer Rana Hdeib.  "YallaTV will award $2,000 USD for the first place winner, $1,000 USD to the second place winner, and $500 USD to the third place winner.  This reflects YallaTV's commitment to build an online venue where promising Arab filmmakers can start earning money while reaching a larger audience."

After the online voting period ends at 24:00 hours (Dubai time) on Saturday, 3 November, 2012, the votes will be tallied, and the first, second and third place winners of the YallaTV Virtual Film Festival will be announced on 4 November, 2012.
