PRLog - Oct. 21, 2012 - PHOENIX -- Phoenix, AZ - Instead of using the usual means of marketing his work such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+, Rich has decided to take a different direction and bring his fine art photography to the people. Enlisting in art shows and festivals across Arizona, California, Nevada and New Mexico. How is Arizona photographer Rich Helmer making it work? "Well, I believe that there is no comparison to being able to see artwork close up. Nothing compares to viewing a large print right in front of you. Computer monitors can't compete. Photography is meant to be displayed on your wall, not your computer screen. I think people have forgotten that, which is why I prefer to sell my photos at art shows and galleries." With Rich having completed shows in San Diego, Malibu and Pine Top to name a few, Rich is getting ready for the fall/winter season. "I have had such great response on my first few shows and I really feel that my photography resonates with people. Many times I find myself talking with patrons about certain images. I really love to hear their thoughts as they look at my photos. I can't wait to have a full year under my belt, I have so many ideas to bring my personal style out and showcase it to the public."

Rich is not new to creativity, he is also a guitarist/songwriter so photography fits in great with his new lifestyle on the art show circuit. "Art shows are not easy, the travel and long hours can take its toll, but just like music, put in the hard work and the rewards are endless. Writing a song is not that much different than creating a photograph. I'm telling stories with each art form, one is visual the other audial. Funny thing is, I love to listen to music while I am shooting photography."
With the temperatures cooling off in Arizona, now is the perfect time to catch one of Rich's shows in the Phoenix area. Rich will be filling his schedule there during the fall and winter months. "Arizona has absolutely the best weather in the US from fall to spring. When it gets warmer I will head out of town and hit the cooler areas because Phoenix will be just too hot. Summer in Phoenix is tough, but shows will be plentiful in Northern Arizona, California, New Mexico and Colorado. I can't wait to bring my art to other markets, this is going to be exciting."
