Why The briefing will explore the electrical power situation in Africa. Electrical power is a critical need, since rolling blackouts and lack of access - limits productivity and holds back business growth. Insufficient investment in infrastructure is costing the continent as much as three percent GDP per year. The World Bank estimates that Sub-Saharan Africa’s power generation is equivalent to Spain’s, though it has more than 750 million more people. The gap between demand and supply is staggering; some estimates place the annual financing shortfall in Africa’s power sector at $21 billion or more.
Come listen to what leading experts are saying and doing today to address the vital issue of improving the electrical power situation in Africa.
