Affairs Partners with Plus Fashion Week Chicago

Oct. 20, 2012 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, IL, October 2012 – Plus Fashion Week Chicago is partnering with Affairs magazine to further promote a healthy body image, whether that be slim or plus, with Line Salomonsen, publisher of Affairs magazine, who shares her reasoning for creating the principles that the magazine embodies.

Salomonsen started Affairs magazine because she grew tired of reading entertainment news that encompassed a certain ideal that women should abide by.

“I wanted to create a website which would bring entertainment and fashion news without focusing on the negative things,” Salomonsen said. “I wanted to create a place where people could get some positive reinforcement whether they are a size zero or size 24.”

Affairs magazine, founded in 2009, wants women to know that they can and should feel good regardless of their size. It strives to bring entertainment news which focuses more on the positive things going on in the entertainment industry, including celebrating the people who do not necessarily fit the stereotypical Hollywood and/or fashion mold.

“I believe that entertainment doesn’t have to be boring just because there aren’t any articles about the latest Hollywood/fashion scandal. I firmly believe that people, men or women, shouldn’t feel ashamed because they look different than what the media is dictating they should look like.”

Salomonsen says that she has chosen to partner with Plus Fashion Week Chicago because the message that it sends is a clear one, agreeing with what the company stands for and appreciating the efforts being made to make every woman feel valued.

Salomonsen says that a plus size fashion week is indeed needed because there is far too much focus on how women should be a size zero in order to look good.
