Asheville Sign-A-Rama Sponsors Asheville's GreenWorks First Annual Tire Amnesty Day

Oct. 19, 2012 - PRLog -- Asheville, NC – Locally owned Asheville Sign-A-Rama one of the key sponsors for Asheville's GreenWorks First Annual Tire Amnesty Day, which resulted in over 300 tires to be recycled. These tires will be refurbished into carpeting, shoes and other tires.

The event enabled Buncombe County Residents the opportunity bring old tires form garages, neighborhoods, local creeks to be recylced. Volunteers from Asheville GreenWorks, along side Davidson College and Next Step Recovery, pitched in some muscle to pack the trailer.

This year alone, Asheville Greenworks has pulled over 1200 tires from our local rivers and streams, all of which are sent for recycling. This event was a huge step forward for Asheville, as every tire recycled keeps the local environment clean later. What it comes down to is local initiative, and this past Saturday, it was locals who made the difference.

The event was sponsored by a number of local businesses and groups. Asheville Sign-A-Rama is proud to be a sponsor of this event and the work of Asheville's GreenWorks, including providing the Truck Wrap for GreenWorks truck.
