BREAKING BREAD, BUILDING BRIDGES
Veterans Day Dinner On Behalf Of Arab American Family Services
Bridgeview, IL (FPRC) October 19, 2012 – Arab American Family Services is launching a project that will bring US Veterans who served in Middle East with at risk Immigrant and refugee youth in our local area to offer a tutoring program.
In this program we aim to accomplish two things: One, to connect US veterans with immigrant and refugee students who are struggling academically to have a positive impact on their education. Two, to allow immigrant and refugee children view US Veterans in a positive light.
To get things started, Arab American Family Services is sponsoring a Veterans Day dinner called: “Breaking Bread, Building Bridges”. The dinner will be held on November 11, 2012 at the Bridgeview Park District from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
The purpose of the dinner is to garner support, partnership and leadership in creating a tutoring program for immigrant and refugee children in our local neighborhoods.
