PRLog -- PNut's debut EP leans towards the gritty, bass-heavy, broken-beat style from the UK while retaining a more left-field, dark and experimental techno quality that gives the title track a sinister and tweaky feel. ‘Beauty of Form’ may readily be the ‘lightest’
track on the EP, despite a dark wobble weaving in and out of the acid-synth atmospheres. Ominous lyrics spoken by a little girl call out to listeners asking, “what does music feel like?”. ‘Wired to the Moon’ is the schizophrenic step-child that makes this EP a real well-rounded banger along with the two very stand-out dancefloor tracks ‘Lucid Dreams’ and ‘Bullshit’
. ‘Lucid Dreams’ has a real bounce to it and ‘Bullshit’
, a humorous streak despite yet again retaining that dark and dreamy presence this EP encompasses. ‘She Smiles’ hits on a sweeter note for the lengthy intro of the track, but being almost ten minutes long, it dives into a heavy-hitting stomper weaving male and femaleFrench vocals and melodic riffs in and out. With a debut like this, the bar is high for subsequent releases from PNut. Waska Records delivers yet another outstanding release with ‘Before the Tide’; a great, eerie but fun EP. To be released 10/31/12.
