Ohio CAT Announces Groundbreaking for Corporate Headquarters Building Expansion

Looking to the future, Ohio CAT begins facilities expansion initiative with groundbreaking ceremony at the company's Broadview Heights, OH corporate campus.

Oct. 18, 2012 - PRLog -- With a symbolic first cut of the spade, Ohio CAT President, Ken Taylor, outlined a multi-year plan to renew, improve and expand Ohio CAT’s facilities in Broadview Heights and across the state.  The ceremonial groundbreaking kicked off construction of the Phase 1 building project on October 17, 2012 at the company’s Broadview Heights facility.

Headquartered in Broadview Heights, Ohio CAT has approximately 950 employees throughout Ohio, northern Kentucky and southeastern Indiana, with over 230 employees working in Broadview Heights.  Industry growth in Ohio has led to increased employment within the company, leading to the need for facility investments company-wide.

Phase 1 at the Broadview Heights facility will provide an additional 6,500 sq. ft. expansion for the corporate Technical Training Department. Phase 2 will include additional conference facilities, office space and new, customer-friendly space for the Machine Sales Department. Finally, Phase 3 will serve to renew and update the existing office building, which was opened in 1971. The plans are part of a $50 million facilities-related improvement and expansion project.

Other projects across the state are planned for 2013 at the company’s North Canton, Cadiz, and Cincinnati locations. Then the focus will turn to major building projects in Toledo and Washington Court House. At the groundbreaking ceremony, Ken Taylor commented, “I am hopeful that there will be market demand from the energy sector, including oil and gas as well as coal, from infrastructure spending, from the now barely recovering housing markets, and from agriculture. Moreover, I am determined to make things better for our customers and my employees.”

Looking ahead, by the end of 2015, Ohio CAT plans to hire an additional 300 employees, bringing the company’s total employment to 1,200.  Capital expenditures for facilities-related expansion will allow Ohio CAT to serve its customers through 25 full service locations, compared to 20 locations today.

Ohio CAT is the authorized Caterpillar dealer for Ohio, northern Kentucky, and southeastern Indiana and has been serving the equipment and power system needs of local businesses since 1945. In addition, the company is an agricultural equipment dealer, representing products manufactured by AGCO Corporation and CLAAS of America Inc.  Ohio CAT’s Corporate Headquarters is one of 20 Ohio CAT locations and is located at 3993 East Royalton Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio.
