My Joys has an original and engaging sound which has proved an immediate hit with her fans around the globe. The fact that it’s sung in Pharsi is significant, since it illustrates both her deep connection to her Persian roots and her commitment to delivering a message of peace in light of the current political climate. Rita’s unusual success and popularity in Iran has garnered worldwide media attention. Her story was recently featured in The Wall Street Journal (Iran and Israel Can Agree on This) and on PRI’s The World (Rita Brings Persian Music to Israel).
“We’re excited to bring this inspiring experience to the large Jewish, Israeli, Iranian and American communities on the Peninsula,” said Ronit Jacobs, Director of the Israeli Cultural Connection at the OFJCC, the organization responsible for bringing the performance to Palo Alto. “Presenting such high-caliber talent is a privilege, especially one that has the ability to build bridges and bring people together.”
The show will feature Rita’s greatest hits of all time as well as Persian songs from My Joys.
