Dr. Qamar And The Institute Of Cardiovascular Excellence Walk To End Cardiovascular Disease

Oct. 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Ocala, Fla. – Dr. Asad Qamar and the staff at the Institute of Cardiovascular Excellence (ICE) invites everyone to the inaugural ICE Walk, a 4-mile walk to promote a healthy heart. “We wanted to do something for our patients, their families and the community to help bring attention to the fact running and walking benefits those with and without heart disease” said Dr. Qamar, the Interventional Cardiologist who founded ICE.

“Dr. Qamar is very active in several national, charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association and The Million Hearts. He wanted to create something locally to bring more awareness to cardiovascular health by starting the ICE Walk” said K.C. Chinapen, chief financial officer at ICE.

The walk will begin and end at the ICE main campus located at 4730 SW 49th Road, Ocala Florida, 34474. Free parking is available with bathroom facilities on-site. Registration begins at 8a.m. and the walk begins at 9a.m. The four-mile event will be sidewalk-safe, and suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Service dogs are welcome.

Participants should wear comfortable shoes and clothing. Upon registration all participants will receive an ICE T-shirt. Water will be available before, during and after the walk. Entertainment, catered food, and vendors will be on-site following the event for everyone’s enjoyment. Raffles will be held and prizes given away.

There is no fee to enter, but charitable donations to the Ocala Women’s Shelter will be accepted. Make checks payable to Ocala Women’s Shelter upon registration. Individual walkers and teams are encouraged to sign up early and collect pledge donations to help support women in need.
