Dan Dortic, President of Major Hyundai, Celebrates Big Year Of Accomplishment, Gives Back to Locals

PRLog (Press Release) - Oct. 17, 2012 - Stroudsburg, PA- Recently named ‘2012 Lehigh Valley Man of The Year’ by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 120 pounds lighter after taking control of his health and becoming a personal trainer and experiencing record growth at his Stroudsburg dealership in the face of a stagnant economy, local businessman Dan Dortic has much to be thankful for this November.  

Tired of the doom and gloom in the news and many of the negative industry-wide forecasts that pertained to the automotive business, Dortic says he embarked on a personal mission beginning in 2011 to spend his future bettering himself and the community around him.

“With so much going on in the world, it’s easy to feel discouraged and wonder how just one person could bring some change to the world around me,” says Dortic. “I decided to give it a shot for myself and the people I care about,” he adds.

He passionately raised over $81,000 for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society and sponsored many other local charities and fundraisers through his dealership after learning that charitable giving from corporations was down due to the recession.  

He also made a personal commitment to slow down and take personal responsibility for his health.  After years of struggle, Dortic said he made fitness and nutrition a priority and lost 120 pounds in just 15 months.  He  is now a certified personal trainer through ISSA and is on a mission to encourage and help others achieve results they never thought were possible.

And, after celebrating a record year of sales and growth at Major Hyundai, his Stroudsburg, PA dealership, Dortic is now using his profits to make the holidays a little brighter for residents who also find themselves in need of a car this time of year.

Affectionately calling himself “Santa of Stroudsburg,” Dortic will give up to $2500 in cash with each new or used car purchase starting in November.  He hopes the offer of “Christmas Cash” will make things easier for families making a major car purchase this month.

“There’s often a sense of dread around the holidays from people who find themselves in need of a car. They fear that they won’t be able to afford reliable transportation and buy holiday gifts for their families at the same time,” says Dortic. “So by giving back cash, I’m hoping to take that fear off the table for people already struggling this year,” he adds.
