Bra Recycling Month Kicks Off In Conjunction With Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence Awareness

Oct. 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Phoenix, AZ (October 15, 2012) –  The Bra Recyclers and partners across the country have been busy recycling bras to women in need in an effort to bring awareness to breast cancer and domestic violence in a unique way. The event kicked off October 1st and The Bra Recyclers have set out to exceed previous accomplishments, setting a goal of 15,000 bras recycled during the month of October. So far, over 4,400 bras have been collected.

The Bra Recyclers are grateful to have the support and partnership of community-conscious companies and groups around the country who have joined our ‘BRAvolution’ such as Baci Lingerie Baci Director of Sales and Operations Alicia Sinclair states, “Baci Lingerie is committed to helping better our community through philanthropic efforts, which is why we are proud to work with The Bra Recyclers. Since the first time I met with The Bra Recyclers, I was touched by the concept and felt it was an important organization to contribute to. We are happy to help those in need by supplying an essential product.  Thank you to The Bra Recyclers for allowing Baci Lingerie to be a part of such a great cause.”

Affinitas, Leading Lady, Soma Intimates, JGS Travel, Bodacious Boutique and Baci Lingerie are the sponsors of our 2012 weekly prize raffles. “This is our best year yet for great prizes that women can win for just recycling a gently used or new bra,” states CEO Elaine Birks-Mitchell.

The Bra Recyclers also have the support of individuals, groups and radio stations around the country that are supporting them in pursuit of their goal.  The Glendale Women’s Club in Arizona collected 114 bras from group members and 98.9 in Louisville, Kentucky collected 2,942 bras during their Bras for Bluegrass event.  Others, such as Belle Mode Intimates in Fairfax, VA, Elegance Underneath in Illinois and Susan G. Komen of Southern Arizona, still have events on-going.

Bra Recycling Month lasts the entire month of October and there are still many great prizes that will be raffled off.  Anyone who recycles their bra during October will automatically be entered into the weekly prize drawings. Additionally, Leading Lady is offering all women who recycle a bra during Bra Recycling Month the opportunity to save 15% with an online order.
